Meet the Founder
Adrina Bacon is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and has a Master in Teaching from Seattle University. She is an experienced educator with more than 25 years in the classroom and as a Reading Specialist. She is also certified at the Associate Level by the prestigious Orton Gillingham Academy and certified with the Center for Effective Reading Instruction as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.
Her passion for teaching students with Dyslexia was birthed during her time as a Reading Specialist in the public school setting. She has a unique perspective in her understanding of what schools can and cannot provide; and she is able to meet students where they are in order to provide individualized and prescriptive instruction to meet those needs.
Adrina and her husband have 3 young adult children. She loves God, the sunshine, long walks and good books.
Our mission is to help students grow in confidence, enjoy reading and access learning.
“I’ve seen students grow by leaps and bounds, just by meeting them right where they are instead of pushing them to where we think they should be.”
— Adrina, Founder of Access Learning Academy
